Hi all, I have bought what appeared to be online, a first class berth in the sleeper for £75. When I went down to collect the tickets there was no problem, the person behind the desk asked for my booking reference as normal, printed the tickets and that was that. Upon closer inspection the tickets say "berth supplement, valid with travel ticket". If this is the case shouldn't the website have acknowledged that I hadn't booked a berth?

What you have booked is a berth supplement, to be used with a First Anytime ticket. Was that not what you intended to do? It seems clear enough on the site when you do this.

You have a berth, the number of which will be marked on what you received. You don't have a ticket, which you require to go with it. You could have booked an inclusive ticket.

If this was wrong, you can refund it less £10 and rebook an inclusive fare, if that is what you intended. That's probably cheaper than buying a FOS to go with it.

If you booked it using the Sleeper website (sleeper.scot) you have to specifically choose that you want a supplement (see attachment) so I'm not sure how you came by a supplement rather than a ticket.

And, pedantically, you have booked a berth, just no ticket to go with it.

It looks clear enough online! What does your confirmation email say?

I agree with najaB no matter how pedantic it might be. You have bought a berth, you just haven't bought the travel element that goes with it.

I think you've got confused somewhere, follow the advice form yorkie and check your confirmation. In the unlikely event this says you have bought a ticket as well as the supplement, then contact the rail company, explain what's happened, and see what they say.
