CAD programmes for designing model layouts.

Im a little new to using these types of aids, but wonder what advice I could be given, Im building a 00 gauge steam depot layout and looking for some sort of CAD system which will allow to to drop different points and lines in place, giving me details of track tyoes, radia etc and what will fit whre based on by board size??
