National Rail has put out that cable theft in the Huntingdon area is cancelling all East Coast services, GC services are starting/terminating in Doncaster and York for Bradford/Wakefield and Sunderland respectively, with 1A64 terminating in Peterborough and 1A63 terminating at Newark Northgate. LD seems to be OK, with 1E82 being terminated at Peterborough, 1S97 isn't listed as cancelled by RTT yet. LNER will be having a bad time, along with Thameslink and Great Northern. 1A94 seems to have terminated at Doncaster, which means 1H05 will likely get cancelled or start at Doncaster, 1H04 seems to have been cancelled, but the rest seem fine for now.

On the Hull trains front 1H04 was cancelled and 1H05 has run to time so far with the unit 802303 from 1H04. Quite a good little move from Hull Trains with 1H05 been one of the only departures to time for hours out of Kings Cross. It is however very busy and now slowing in the St Neots area.

Lines opened again about 1500 but not sure in what capacity. There's certainly a large queue of southbound trains in the Connington area so possible southbound trains are been talked past the affected area.

Currently making decent progress southwards on 1A37, albeit 24 down due to a delay departing Leeds, apparently due to a mechanical issue, and some signal checks.

Still just north of Peterborough, so plenty of time for that to change!

EDIT: a few minutes ago appeared to be talked past a signal at danger between Fletton Junction and Huntingdon on the up line. Unsurprising given the descriptions above.

Seems like a decent recovery given the circumstances.

I'm currently on the 17.45 Leeds to King's Cross ( with 91 114 shoving ) and we're running pretty much to time. This is a service for which the northbound would have been caught up in the disruption.

As far as I could see, your set is what would have done the cancelled 1645. Most arrival at Leeds was 60 minutes late, meaning working back later

Hopefully the class 4 cracks on. I think they’re 75mph(?) so should be okay.

There are relatively few occasions where I’d ever use the phrase “I’d prefer a Thameslink in front”, but yours is one of them!

We're through; it looks like signal 390 is the affected one ( based on how we progressed through ) and I think the container train will get to the four track in time to avoid hindering us further.

Edited to add: That indeed happened and we are now running well but we had a heavy brake application between St Neots and Sandy - cue the brake smell more usually associated with Mk3 stock.

Couldn't see any obvious reason why; is there a permanent way slack in place at the moment?
