Lost somewhere within Bank-Monument tube station,
While doing a First Essex bash around Basildon and Southend on Wednesday (3/10 wouldn't recommend, Basildon bus station is an incredibly miserable experience ), I had to use the LTS line for a bit, where I came a bit unstuck as I thought the C2C service between Upminster and Pitsea via Basildon had returned to 4tph off-peak. The 357s still carry maps which show a uniform 4tph service for Laindon and Basildon, I was wondering if this is a permanent change to 2tph on this branch or if there are plans to return to the pre-Covid frequency?

The c2c timetable has still yet to be scaled back up after the pandemic, pretty much at all. Trains only running every 12 minutes in the peak from Upminster is seeing people turned away from completely full 12-car units Tuesday to Thursday. That coupled with the obvious neglect of the units from their deteriorating physical condition illustrates the direction the line is heading in. It's a shame as the service used to be excellent.

Off peak is now 8 cars every 30 min instead of 4 cars every 15 minutes

With that peak frequency they must be saving a fortune by employing fewer drivers.
