Hi Guys,

This is my third time going for the trainee train driver position with C2C. The last time I passed all of the tests required, but at the Driver management interview at the C2C head office they informed me I had been unsuccessful.

I have applied again for the same position so I don't think I would have to redo all the tests, but I wondered if it might be worth sending them an email directly to highlight the fact I have passed all of the tests and see if I have any luck securing another interview? or should I just wait to hear back from my online application?

From experience, if you’ve failed the DMI once, it’s unlikely the company would entertain you again. Of course, some companies will be different. But if they’ve seen you’ve failed the DMI they generally won’t give you another shot at it. Psychometric tests are of course different.

Been invited for assessment day this month. Has anyone else received a invite? If so do you believe the practice material sent is sufficient?

Sufficient but use that and there is lots of advice on this forum for the assessment day and a group bourdon tool is provided here (pinned).

Was you invited today?

I received the invitation on Wednesday. Quite late in the day.

I’ll check out the group bourdon tool.

Many thanks

I think Many of these tests are designed to be impossible to finish … to see if you try to rush through it … on my fault finding test there were 25 questions and a 20 min time limit.. I finished 9 and passed … just take the time to do it right and don’t get flustered and start rushing …as, i believe, that’s what they’re looking for !

I hope so because the 2nd stage dates are 30-31 May and 6-10 June and if I have made it to the second stage I’d need to book the time off.
