Another passenger fined £3181.50 for wrong ticket!
This won't be a £3k fine for a single incident of an incorrect ticket.
What it will almost certainly be is an out of court settlement where someone has been caught travelling with an invalid ticket. Their ticket purchasing history will have been checked which will have identified this has happened multiple times and the settlelemt cost will have factored this in.
What is interesting is we rarely see c2c mentioned in this section of the forum. I can only ever remember one case, ever! Compare and contrast to Chiltern who serve some of the most affluent areas of the country. Is this becuase:
- Chiltern's passengers are less honest than those on c2c?
- c2c do a better job of checking tickets and making sure passengers have the correct ticket
- Chiltern are more robust at dealing with fare evasion than c2c
This article suggests c2c are uping their game so I suspect we will see more cases on here that involve them....
