Wow you must have a fantastic cv if they consider you from manchester go for it I know I would remember you cannot be stressed if you want to go driving anyway just calm the mind and focus focus focus

Commercial or non commercial and where based?

Also being a guard makes it easier to become a driver and you can speak to others in the same position and get assistance etc

Hi Ml it is based in Guildford honestly iam not sure if it is Commercial or not.yes I have a good CV but what the point if I fail the assessment. Iam in such a distress.I messed up the TRP part 1 and I think I have done well in the TEA test when you count the low tune.my biggest mistake that I have relied solely on the materials they sent .the group bourdon was crossing out letters not dots,the text was about train illumination problems ,so I thought every assessment has different text .I didn't know about GLOP and it comes in nearly all assessments.If C2C rejected my application I will accept it but I don't want to lose any of my 2 chances. Does anyone know about the national standard? And how I figure out if I met it or not. I haven't received the results yet but iam pretty sure I won't. Do they email or send a letter ?

Hey Pop79,

Just gonna give my little bit. Try not to stress out at all. If you are not ready mentally or not physically rested enough for an assessment then cancel it. A little bit of stress is always good before any assessment or interview (this basically means you are not going in overconfident or cocky), however if you are just too stressed then don't do it. This is the same principle we apply when we need to drive the trains. You have to be fully rested (at least 8hrs) and you have to make sure you don't go into that cabin stressed out or worried.

I had my stage 1 tests today. I was ok with 4 of them. Dots, TRP part 1/2 and fault finding were all good. My only concern is the TEA-OCC. I struggled with the beeps while looking for symbols. I didn't get them all wrong, but I know I did 2/3. So I don't have a massive sensation of success, but neither failure.

But overall I'm pleased that I got this far. So If I get the stage 2 invite, then great.

The HR person did also explain a few things. c2c do not operate on a 4 day week and you're rostered for the year at a time including Sundays, about 17/1800 hours. So she said this could mean doing 24 hours one week, but 50 hours the next week. This includes between 10/12 weeks off.
One positive thing was that they try do put you in the nearest depot. She acknowledged that the advert said East Ham, but if you live 10 minutes from Shoeburyness they'll try and put you there.

Anyone else who is doing stage 1 with c2c, we will get an email within a week.

I struggle to see if a Depot Driver gives you the edge for any future trainee train driver opportunities with the current TOC or future TOC/FOCs. As I have mentioned I am in the talent pool for a MDD but an opportunity has arisen for a conductor. My aim is to be a driver, rock and a hard place springs to mind.

Hey guys,

Regarding depot driver vacancy with c2c

I sat assessments 2 days ago where we were told to receive results soon after. We were also advised that a stage 2 assessment will commence on Monday of next week. I also understand that there's a 7 days requirement for practice materials and revision to be done prior to assessments ..

Does anyone have any idea how and when c2c will confirm results whether passed or failed

I only ask as I similarly felt the same regarding the TEA-OCC though I'd like to think I didn't get much wrong but started pretty slow in part 1, as I prepared for the assessment quite differently, with an almost complicated opinion of it, though it was rather simple on principal of instruction ..

Sat the assessment last week, got a reply 3 days later. unfortunately i ddnt meet c2c standards for group bourdon but it was good enough at national level. They often email you the result pretty quick but they wont give you any feedback

A depot driver with c2c will go on to become a mainline driver as a natural progression within the company, subject to performance and availability. The average time to do this is probably about 18 months. c2c don't take trainee drivers from anywhere else.

I heard back today from c2c. I failed the TEA-OCC and DFFT. Although I've just called the OPC and have met the national standard on all tests. So although disappointing, it's still good news. Think I'll keep an eye on GA. :)

I attended the assessment stage 2 in watford on the 21st October and was told that I had passed all of the assessments.

I had the MMI with OPC and was sent on my way. Well 3 weeks to the day C2C have not come back to me. I have chased both OPC (cannot give the information) and C2C (asked to send emails to chase) and heard nothing.

Just wondering if this was the norm or do i have something to be concerned about.

Thanks for any help given

Just out of interest, how would the process work for a depot driver to move onto mainline driving, in general speaking as I am aware that c2c actively encourage promotion from depot driving onto mainline. If a depot driver applied for a trainee train drivers vacancy with a different TOC, would that TOC check the candidates previous assessment results to see if they achieved a pass or enhanced.

Hi,
I am in the same boat as yourself, had day at Watford on 22nd Oct. Was recently in touch with the woman from C2C who is in charge of this recruitment drive. Due to timetable changes I was told that she could not get two managers together for interviewing, there are two start dates Jan/Mar and 19 people have got through for 16 positions.

Thanks all.

I actually had my managers interview and medical start on the 25th.

I know they are holding more interviews so i am sure you will hear something soon.

I am one of those applicants (there are 19 of us, apparently) who have passed all assessments and the MMI and are now waiting for a managers interview. I passed my MMI on 10th November. I spoke to Michelle at C2C last week. They are still unable to schedule interviews because of the demands of the new timetable. Nobody from this group has had their managers' interview, so we are all in the same boat. If we weren't blessed with patience before, we certainly are now. Keep the faith - we are nearly there. Good luck to all. We may soon be colleagues.

I was external mate. And yes I passed first time. If I find out anything about the next intake next Monday I'll Let you know.

BigRob take it your name is Rob ?? I know that I am in the system just frustrating when you get told one thing and it is not true, good luck, I have worked on the railway as a driver with a clean SOL after 10 years there are differences and there will be changes. Coming from an outside career you may find that at first it is difficult to take in, if I can help in any way ask, what ever you may feel is perhaps a silly question if I can help I will

Had an email on 2nd Feb stating that interviews would be held at Shoeburyness on 11th and 12th Feb. I've had mine and am cautiously optimistic, as the saying goes. I'm now waiting for official feedback and - hopefully - a date for a medical.
