So an ST would be Shoegear Trailer?
No, DM, UNDM, NDM, T, CT and ST are all terms applied to conventional and 1st gen ECEB trains, and to an extent 2nd Gen Alstom ECEB stock. (92TS has explicitly defined car types)
3rd gen ECEB (Bombardier) stock such as 09TS and S Stock also has car types. But rather than A, B, C, C(D) as per 1992TS. This refers to its position in the half unit and the fitted equipment.
On S Stock for example.
All cars have an MCM, but on the M1 car its an MCM heavy for the Auxilliary convertor.
DM cars also have shoegear, cabs and compressors.
MS cars also have Shoegear and some electrical mods to 'split' the units.
M2 cars have none of the above, unless they're an M2(D) then they have de-icer.
These then all relate to the 1st two didgits of the car number, as traditionalluly DM etc. did.
Special can mean many things and is stock dependant.
On 73TS it deontes that it is neither A nor D and that two compressors are fitted, the same on D78 stock.
On 72TS it relates to the EP and Westinghouse brake system on build, and many more electrical differences in the engineering mods package.
On 96TS it refers to nothing but concrete being fitted underneath...
