BZ6 - Newbury

Urgent Q!

Just bought a BZ6 - Newbury ticket from Paddington (Newbury is marked as 'Newbury *'), which says route ANY PERMITTED as opposed to VIA SLOUGH which is what a BZ6 to Reading usually says. Does this mean I can come back to London from Reading on a South West Trains service via Virginia Water and Staines?

Yes. Reading - Boundary Zone 6 fares are either VIA ASCOT or VIA SLOUGH. For Newbury - Boundary Zone 6, there is only route ANY PERMITTED, which can be used via Ascot or via Slough.

No, there isn't, however the more expensive route would be valid for travel on the cheaper route, hence effectively becoming Route Any Permitted.

Odder that the more expensive BZ ticket routeing is for the route which is cheaper as a Reading-London ticket.

It makes sense when you think about the nature of the two routes though and how BZ tickets are priced. I expect there's no Any Permitted since none of the route is shared between a Feltham-Reading and a West Drayton-Reading journey.

On the London to Reading flows there are several instances of tickets which are more expensive on different routes depending on the ticket type.
