Hi all, off to Luton this Saturday. I was just wondering if THIS ticket is valid on the fast trains from St Pancras? http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=0042&dest=LUT&rlc=NGC&tkt=CBA

I can't find anything in the huge load of conditions which states not valid by EMT.

Although the ticket that I want (the £5.60 super off peak return) does say next to it "Restrictions
FB SUPER OFF-PEAK FOR TL&GN"

http://www.brfares.com/#!fares?orig=0042&dest=LUT&rlc=NGC

I'm a bit confused. Does "FOR TL&GN" exclude EMT? The only tickets that don't say along lines of TL&GN are the anytime day returns.

Basically, are the cheap tickets valid on EMT?
I have used the super off peak to Bedford on EMT with no problems before.

Thanks

Assuming you have a Zones 1-3 travelcard then it's perfectly valid on EMT trains.

I assume your travelcard is on Oyster in which case you will need to be let through the gates manually at St Pancras. This is not guaranteed to be hassle free.

In my experience they're generally quite good on the St Pancras barrier when combining zonal and Boundary Zone tickets. Where there are sometimes issues is where you're combining it with a ticket from a named station (not relevant here)
