According to the News...

Commanders for Libya's transitional authorities say they have captured ousted leader Col Muammar Gaddafi.

The reports came after transitional forces claimed control of Sirte, Col Gaddafi's birthplace, following weeks of fierce fighting.

Some unconfirmed reports say Col Gaddafi has been wounded, others that he has been killed.

Either'll do really.

Unlike the other forum members who have cited Iran and Zimbabwe, there is a far more frightening dictator and he lives in North Korea with a massive land army and proven weapons technology development that was aided by his country's two northern neighbours at different periods in time.

Yes, but there's a difference between knowing thine enemy and not actually knowing who you're looking for, he may have doubles, yes, but that doesn't mean to say they are in charge.

For the same reason of their desperation to get Japan to surrender by using nuclear weapons. They were scared stiff that they would have to go ahead with plans later that year to invade Japan, which would have resulted in horrendous casualties.

Problem is, they didn't really take it that seriously, putting troops into Asia not that long after, we all know what happened then.
