BVE4 black screen

Hi all,

For some reason, my BVE4 is now loading with a black screen, meaning I cannot drive any route. Audio is fine, but without the visual it's not much good to me!

No idea why it has happened all of a sudden, anyone any thoughts on how to fix it?

Thought I'd drop in with a couple of screenshots as well. Attached are screen-grabs of what it looks like whilst loading and at the beginning of the route.

Couldn't resist having fun with the start-up sound mind!

o.k that doesn't look very healthy, I think that it might be some missing data but I am not familiar with the way the program works

Techniquest, are you aware of any drivce updates recently? Do you know of a set that work, it may be worth reinstalling them.

That happens to me if I accidentley press the windows button on the keyboard that brings the start menu up!

Reinstall bve. It will install over the top of what is already there and wont erase your trains, routes etc.

Techniquest, are you aware of any drivce updates recently? Do you know of a set that work, it may be worth reinstalling them.

Can't say I am, but wouldn't surprise me if that were the case. The system is in need of an almighty clean-out, started that yesterday with clearing out over 20GB of transferred video, but the system still runs very slow anyway.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I'll go with JustinStacey.x's advice and re-install the game.

there is a small possibility that you deleted some drivers accidentally, you may need to reinstall directx (I think that's used in bve4)

GV, I will only say this once....shut up!

While it may be worth checking for DX9 updates, it's obvious drivers havn't been deleted as the system still has full graphic capabilities.
