BVE Route Randomizer

The most common use for it is to simply click a route and train of your choice rather than having to modify route files manually to use different tracton types with them. Additional features include making trains tilt, random signalling, adhesion levels, random track quality, random station wait/jam, random starter signal aspect and also timetable features. There is also a setting that can make your train take different lines but as you can guess this isn't exactly a realiable feature as you may end up travelling the wrong way on a line that is not bi-directional.

Also I found it messed about with manually closing the doors, after one or two stops, it would just stop...

In my honest opinion the BVE Route Randomiser (thanks to Oskari Saarakas) is an essential part of BVE. It makes changing routes and trains so easy. I wouldn't be without it, that's for sure.

I've never had problems using it with BVE4. It's possible, Jordy, you may have v9 installed? BVE4 is only compatible with BRR v10.

The only problem I've encountered with BRR is on the Plymouth route... inexplicably, it doesn't like some of the platforms, and seems to discard them before you've passed them... obviously somehow managing to infringe the "25 metre" rule... don't have this problem running Plymouth without BRR...

Must admit, I'm using BRR less and less... and, on the rare occasions that I do run it, it's mainly to inflict signalling delays.... I always found the "route" randomising a little disconcerting - ending up running on the wrong road.....

And as regards changing trains, here's a little tip I picked up somewhere.... instead of having a different copy of each of your favourite routes with each of your favourite trains, simply put all of your trains in the "with Train" section, but comment out the ones you don't want ... er, or is that "comment in" the one you do...??? ... like this....

... then, before you open the route, just change to the train you want by swapping semicolons and saving the change to the file .....

If you were so inclined, you could also list different timetable bitmaps, and comment them in or out, too.... wouldn't change the stopping or timing pattern, but would simply display a correct timetable bitmap in the cab..

You could then argue it's not always foggy at a particular time all the time

Also, it doesn't work that well. It works well with changing trains, but when diverting a train along a different track it doesn't!

I used to use it to do all sorts of things when I first started using BVE but soon found that I was spoiling BVE's realism. When I say I think it's an essential part of BVE it's only because it makes it so quick and easy to change routes and trains. That's all I now use it for but I wouldn't be without it.

I find the Randomising Signals and Adhesions make BVE a lot more realistic. I agree with ending up on the 'Wrong Road' though.

same version here... its very useful with the removal of certain trains, as you can now drive whatever train you want on the route...
