From the Homepage of BVE Rail Network:

BVE Railnetwork visitors and members,

Unfortunately after many years being open to the public freely distributing BVE addons, some successful some not, we’ve decided to close BVE Railnetwork. Therefore this means that our downloads and public forums are inaccessible from this day forward until further notice.

BVE Railnetwork has had its ups and its downs as some members have experienced and reported. During the times we tried to maintain excellence in our forum management keeping away the undesirables.

Veterans of BVE will probably know what the downs consisted of; however we feel it not necessary to repeat it to newer members of the BVE community. Typically though a lot of this consisted of disagreements in the way we created our trains, therefore afterwards personal comments were made towards BVE Railnetworks staff.

We would like to forgive and forget the past and move forwards as this community is something special that requires working teams in order to create successful add-ons.

In the notion we would like to send out a massive thank you to Trainsimcentrals staff for helping BVE Railnetwork get its feet off the ground a number of years ago mainly Steve Green for his continuous efforts and support.

Big thank you to Martin Corbett for his massive efforts in helping us create trains that would normally be inaccessible to us.

Another big thank you to all our members that have signed up and enjoyed using our forums and downloading our addons, also all your wishes and criticism has been much appreciated and needed.

We are sorry it has come to this; however bad news is always followed by good news.

The good news is that after a lot of thought and discretion we have decided to incorporate BVE Railnetwork into Zane Saxtons Company Oovee.co.uk. BVE Railnetwork will therefore be known as ‘Oovee Simulation’.

Oovee Simulation is the light at the end of the tunnel, and we will continue to develop addons for BVE along with re-uploading our current addons. This means all current work in progress addons will be completed as promised however some may experience delays.

A smaller ‘sectional’ forum will be created for members to discuss our addons along with our other services. There are no plans to continue with the UK Work in Progress or Released databases but this is subject to a public vote.

We are and have been in the progress of creating a new plugin for the DMU based simulation that will hopefully be released later this year, massive thanks goes to Andrew Dawson for this. More information will be available on Oovee Simulations website. We do have some other exciting releases to come before Christmas so keep your eyes open!

You may be wondering what the website address is going to be, here it is;

So it's not shutting down just changing its name?

That's what I thought. I read the title of the thread and was told be a few people and thought "this has been coming for ages, I wonder what will happen to all their trains and WIP stuff?"….
Then I read the post on TSC. It's not closing down...

Zane has thanked TSC and everyone else for their support in his projects, but why do that if you're not actually closing down? He's only changing the website name and layout, not leaving the BVE community, so why thank everyone...

I don't understand it all to be honest. Still, let's not turn this on into another BRN argument, eh?

I agree with the above comment, its a publicity stunt. Even if it does shut down there will still be people going around selling routes on the internet that they have made themselves.

If it does shut down, will bvestation.co.uk shut down aswell. Thats a good website to get routes off.

Why would it?
Just because one site's shut down (renamed) it doesn't mean that another site will follow shortly after.

BVE routes & trains are not commercial.

Haha, Credit crunch. Providing tfl dont put up thier travelcard prices, FGW dont put up thier ticket prices. Cafe Nero dont increase thier price of their hot chocolate milano (not that its expensive enough already) and British gas dont put up thier electricity bill. That means the Central Line isnt affected then? :D

Though, I would campaign for more hours in a day so i could get it done quicker!
