Hello everyone.

Sorry in advance if this has been covered before.

I canno't seem to be able to play BVE. It loads ok, and I can select my route etc, but when I go to play all I can see if the inside of the cab with a big pink area where the route should be, so I can't drive.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Which version of BVE are you using?
What is your graphics card?
What driver version do you have for your graphics card?
What train and/or route has the problem?

1) BVE 4

2) Ahh, now thanks for bringing this to my attention. This has been annoying me for time, but whether it's related to the problem with BVE I don't know. I get a lot of blue screens of death which are aparently graphics related when I use Trainz and sometimes with webcams. Apon inspection, it appears my graphics card drivers are out of date, but when I checked on the internet for an update and found one which I am 100% sure if for my machine, the installation says it's not compatible for my laptop. So essentially, they're released an upgrade which doesn't work on the computers it's desgined for! The card is a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. If anyone can resolve this problem it would be great as well!

3) 6.14.0010.4953 (English)

4) All of them.

Hi Chris

I've had this problem before, Had it both on one of my laptops and my gaming desktop. I assume you've tryed reinstalling BVE ect like i did. I left it for a while and affter i formated my laptop found that it worked. Not sure if this helps in your case i know unless you do it regualy formating your pc is a pain in the neck but as I do it every few months it works well for me.
Havn't had a problem with BVE since then.

Are you running on Windows 7 or Vista? I had no end of problems with BVE4 on anything above XP.

If you ARE using Vista/7, I wouldn't bother with BVE4, just use OpenBVE, as I find this is now at a level where it supports pretty much everything for BVE2 & 4 (plus you can mix and match trains and routes for different versions of BVE)

Not too sure about formatting your PC though. I can't see how it would help in this case: if the drivers aren't there, then they ain't there!

If you DO wish to format you PC however, you can either use the recovery partition (if there is one) or you need to get some recovery disks, which will have the OS and relavent drivers for the laptop.

Also, Intel graphics cards (and other integrated cards) aren't really suited to gaming, so you may find it's ultimately a hardware limitation of your laptop. For future reference, an Ati/nVidia card would be more ideal, in particular one with more dedicated memory (256/512 Mb).
