BVE Lives on....

As I said before I had something lined up something for BVE/OpenBVE to make sure it still lives on. So I'am pleased to announce that my BVE Group will be releasing the Class 318 within the next few days. This is just one of a few BVE projects that will be released over the course of the next few weeks. We will hopefully host the Harcroft - Colliers Stone Route and Richwell Network providing we gain the permission to do so.

I look forward to seeing the 318, would there be any interest in a Class 317 as they're pretty much the same with minor differences such as 3 coaches vs 4 coaches etc...

I would have thought that BVE would have soon disappeared; purely because Railworks is a lot better.

I doubt it will for the very simple reason that BVE is free.

Though I am an owner of Railworks, I often prefer to use BVE. Railworks takes a long time to load on my PC, and the game can often be jumpy. BVE works a dream on my computer, and I think routes like the Northern Line and NWM are very close to the high standards of Railworks.

Same here .. and I've got a reasonably good specced dual core PC that RS was supposed to run better on - 17fps compared to 30 for (open)BVE says it all ...

And since when does RS/RW run on a netbook at 45fps?

openBVE does, and it is better in terms of realism than RS/RW - AWS works correctly for a start (unless they've fixed in in RW/RW 2 ... )

Railworks runs fine on my toshiba c660D! Usually get 60fps.
