Hi guys,

Kelvin has done as much as he can on this brand new tool, so has decided to release it. It is not entirely complete, but functions correctly.

This tool is superb; it saved me loads of time in creating Harcroft v3!

An appropriate formula for cant calculations is currently being discussed over at TSC - the results from the calculator seem to be in accordance with an equation I used on Maplestead (and has probably been widely used elsewhere). However, the results may be too low (based on visual observations).

Also group standards do not specify exact distances for TPWS installations; these will depend on line speed and train braking performance. GE/RT 8030 from the RGS online standards covers TPWS.

I believe both calculations (cant and TPWS measurements) were based loosely on internet findings and other information from BVE developers. TPWS measurements are always subject to change because of obstructions eg: points). The calculator works out a "standard" measurement, which can be added/subtracted from to suit the route it's being implemented on.
