Buzzer codes

Hi all,

Does anyone have a list of what the bell/buzzer codes are? I've seen a list on a 377 inside the door panel, but can't remember them.

I know 1 is stop, 2 is right away and 9 is emergency but cant remember the rest.

2: Ready to Start
3: Set Back
4: Slow Down
5: Driver/Guard leaving the train
6: Draw Forward
9: Police assistance required

1-2: Close Doors
2-2: Do Not Open Doors
3-1: Lock Central Door Locking
3-3: Driver/Guard requited to attend telephone (or Loudaphone etc etc)
3-3-1: Release Central Door Locking.

3-2-1 Testing Doors

Each code should be repeated by the driver, with the exception of 3-2-1.

i think 1-3 is used on the west highland line when a token is recieved. would presumable be used elsewhere as well

Thanks for the reply.

However there are a couple of other codes im not sure of.

one is a HST at say Bristol and a couple of minutes before departure there are a few beeps from the guard or driver, is this a test code?

Also when a 180 arrives at a station there seems to be 6 beeps (i think) before the doors open. Does the driver open the doors?

One other thing is when HST departs there is the 2 beep from the guard, 2 beeps back from the driver but the guard always sends 2 back. Is there a reason for this?

The guard's two extra beeps are just for HST's afaik.

6 beeps on a 180? You sure it's just not the "door opening" warning?

fGW are funny and on departure: CDL lights out > Guard gets whistle > Guard keys out > beep beep > driver achnowledges with 2 beeps > guard achnoqledges again with 2 beeps > notch it up to 1 > wait for ages > notch 2 etc etc etc

The 5 beeps lets the gaurd no he can open the doors.

The Driver gives the 5 beeps in the formation of... 3beeps,2beeps

Then The Gaurd does the same, Then the doors open

I was wondering how TM's on trains like the 180 know when it's ok to open the doors, say if the driver had stopped short in a station because of a signal, and the TM may open the doors, with the train in the platform, but not as far up as usual.

each company have there own way of doing things, the only time the driver gives us two beeps is in reply to our two beeeps, ready to go, they only give us two + two to tell us not to open the doors other wise its all up to us

With the meridians the guard can't open the doors until the driver gives him to power to do so via the SDO panel.
