Buying ticket with 26-30 railcard using Expedia

That's just plain lazy.

It's really not. Some ticket issuing systems can't figure out how to do certain excesses with tickets discounted with Two Together Railcards. The only way is to pretend another type of Railcard (with the same percentage discount, etc.) is used.

It's a software limitation which is neither the fault of staff nor customer. But it can be hard to explain what the problem is.

“I will do it with this discount as we will be here all night if I do it with that railcard” was the comment. Polite young lady, no complaints there but yes I did feel that it has the potential for problems. We shall ignore the fact that the excess costing twice as much as it should due to the computer saying so as that is Off Topic here, and the amount was still under £1.
