Is it possible to buy a GM Rail Ranger or a GM Bus & Train Daysaver outside Greater Manchester?

Not sure about the local GM branded ticketing, but I've certainly been able to buy the Cheshire Day Ranger from both Epsom and Euston.

Not sure about the Daysaver tickets but it's certainly possible to buy the GM Rail Ranger at any station.

Yes. If all else fails ask a Guard outside the area to sell you one. If he can't find it on his Avantix machine, tell him to put "MAN" in the "FROM" field, and type "DAYSAVER" in the "TO" field. It will then ask him to select TB (Train and Bus), TM (Train and Metrolink) or TBM (Train, Bus and Metrolink).

Inside the area, Daysavers can be brought anywhere, including tram stops, from bus drivers etc. As a result there are that many different versions available there is no special ticket stock.

The Rail Ranger can be brought at any station or on train outside the area as well. On train, the Guard needs to go to Rover Enquiry and type in GM, and then select the relevant rover - day or evening.

I had no trouble buying an Evening rail ranger from Halifax Station - the chap who sold it me had never heard of it but was cheerily asking all about my journey invlolving a west yorkshire dayrover and Walsden-Littleborough single. The only downside was he issued it from Halifax when I'd asked for it to be issued from Littleborough (to avoid confusion). I didn't have any problems though (and doubt I would as I had other tickets covering Halifax-Littleborough).
