Hi guys
Pretty simple question (fairly certain im just overthinking it), if i was to buy a ticket online now and set it to 'collect at station' would it stay in my local station's TVM until next Sunday (day that i intend on travelling)?

There's no problem booking tickets and collecting them a week later (I've booked tickets months ahead and collected a few minutes before departure). No need to use the specified station to collect your tickets either. You can collect from any National Rail ticket machine (there are a handful of exceptions - basically the ones operated by Mersey Rail)

Many tickets are available as etickets which means a PDF with a barcode is emailed to you when you book your ticket, which you might find more convenient. You can either print the ticket off at home or simply show the ticket on a mobile phone.

It wouldn’t stay in your local station’s TVM at all. It is held in a central database and is recalled by a TVM at the time of collection when you key in the collection reference. This means you can (generally) collect at any TVM at any station that has one.

You don't need to collect the ticket from the specified station as long as it isn't on a Smartcard then you do.

Merseyrail now offer the facility to pick up ToD bookings at their ticket offices. Small mercies!
