If it had come off a 47 or a similar aged loco it would probably be worth the amount its going for, but paying that sort of money for something of a lump of 'Virginity Cramming Plastic' is a bit to much i'd say!

Basically I was on a limit , then I had two weeks off then 3 and abit weeks til now and about 3 before augast I have been doing very well. Michael Know about it spelling right for once.

And I see no point flying from Europe to Singapore just for the first flight. Complete waste of money and even they give you an hotel, it will probably in Downtown. Though it is only 12 mins (or 5 mins provided the taxi is speeding) from Downtown to Airport but the expressway heading towards the Airport is prone to jam so I really don't see the point making this special trip.

I must admit that I would have probabally been bidding on this if the start bid had been reasonable. Charitable auction or no, £750 (Plus P&P) is WAYYY too much to start the bidding on a Pendolinos name plate at! :eek::roll:

Incidentally...I thought that 390006 was named that as a throw-back to the APT project? After all...BR started it in 1979, and Virgin pretty much finished it off in 2002. Naming 390006 in that way would have made sense anyway - IIRC; 370006 (The last APT - Currently rotting away in Crewe! ad is her sister unit, isn't she?

If ye ask me the name change is bad enough, especially as they could have chosen a different unit. How long will it be until we start seeing trains named "Virgin Defiler", "Virgin Lapdancer" () or even "Virgin on the rediculious"? :roll:

My Uncle built that as he worked at Alstom, i also had the honour to meet Richard Branson with him near Christmas time. It was great looking around the train, so much that shouldn't be told to public that will make their hair stand on end. :razz:. Still got a piccie beside that sign with a red curtain. My Uncle was also one of them who put that sign up. So whoever buys it look after it as it'd be nice to see it again after the years.
