Hi all
A friend of mine was returning to Chapel en le Frith on the 2205 from Stockport to Buxton but this was cancelled from Hazel Grove onwards due to a failed freight train. Interestingly the last service off Buxton started short at Furness Vale - very odd and the 2310 from Manchester to Buxton eventually got into Buxton 60+ late.
My friend waited an hour for a rail replacement service (good on Northern for arranging a service at that hour/at that notice! Does anyone know what caused such disruption? My friend eventually got home around 0040, around 1hr 40 after he should have!
I was moaning to him to about the 1739 from Oxford Road to Chinley arriving 50 down at Chinley then that happened to him! Not the best of evenings on the railways for either of us!!
