Hi can anyone help ?

I have just got up to find my mobile phone "dead" it was ok when I went to bed (on nights) and did not need charging.

Putting the charger on / pressing the on button has no effect.

It is a six year old LG "Argos £9.99 special" and I am loathe to give up on it before I have had decent value out of it :p

Have also tried putting the battery in and out !!

Leave it charging for half an hour and try again. If that doesn't work, write it off.

If you don't fancy investing in a fancy phone, see if any of your mates half any old junk phones sitting in the back of cupboards they can give you. There must be an abundance old phones lurking!

Argos seem to have a good selection of cheap no frills phones. They start at around £7.50 for a really basic 'talk and text' model.
Also if you have a branch of CEX locally, they are usually good for cheap phones.

Good news folks - like Lazarus my phone has risen from the dead

It makes calls and receives texts what else do you need !!

Is anyone willing to admit their ONLY mobile phone is older ?

No, but I still have a nokia 3310 knocking about.

Lets be fair though, 6 years use out of a phone that costs a tenner is incredible value, no matter if you are a cheap jock ;)

The first one I had, an Alcatel 302, lasted about 10 years then the dry joints went. My current one is a Sony Ericsson K770i which is now roughly 5 years old...
