A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Quite some years ago, I boarded a bus at Clitheroe Interchange that had been recommended to me as a scenic route. The village of Cow Ark was met reasonably soon and the bus traversed much farmland and passed over some ancient bridges. It then entered a fenced-off area going over a cattle grid and another one some time later on when leaving that area. I am sure there were roads beanching off our route that were signed for the Forest of Bowland area. I think the service terminated at Slaidburn and there was a connecting bus (Little White Buses?) should anyone wish to travel to the Yorkshire area.

I cannot remember the bus number or the service operator of the bus that went through Cow Ark and I would like some information on that particular service and when it was withdrawn.

It depends when you meant - for many years it was run by Leedhams Garage. Post deregulation it was a Lancashire County Council tender that had various forms depending on funding. It has recently return as service 11 Clitheroe to Horton in Ribblesdale run by 21 Transport but soon to be taken over by North Yorkshire’s in house fleet.
