Buses in Ipswich

Hello, just wanted to ask if anyone had any suggestions for routes to ride in/around Ipswich on a Sunday? Also i wanted to ask is Ipswich a place where all the buses use the bus station or just some bus routes?

There are TWO bus stations. Tower Ramparts is mainly local services and Old Cattle Market for out of town.

As for places to go... Sunday services are a bit thin with half hourly to Felixstowe or a handful of journeys out to Woodbridge. Other than that, mainly local.

Rail replacement, as there is this Sunday towards Norwich or Bury St Edmunds, might be the most interesting route to ride on a Sunday - jobs in that area tend to have a great variety of vehicles and some scenic routes.

Sadly it wont be this Sunday i go its next Sunday.

First to Felixstowe’s a decent ride - expect rammed buses though if it’s a sunny day! Give the 66 a try to sample the (albeit small) guided busway section.

In terms of Ipswich Buses; stick to the busier Sunday routes (half hourly) so you aren’t stuck for ages at a terminus! Nothing exactly scenic… an 8 to Asda, 13 to Tesco - or perhaps one of the Hospital routes (2, 5, 6) which if you co-ordinate well can swap so you aren’t doubling back on yourself. The 2 is the most lengthily.

Don't know if older buses (and other vehicles) are of interest, and at the risk I may be stating the obvious, but are you aware of the Ipswich Transport Museum? (They have a small scale running day this Sunday but you've said you're going next weekend.) Ipswich Buses 4 is the closest, First 75 / 77 (Felixstowe) stop not very far away.

(edit to add - I've no personal involvement with them, and haven't been there for quite a while now, but was quite a good collection last time I was there.)

Thank you for this! The guided bus (which i had no clue they had) will be on my radar so thank you! If i was to ride anything it will be hop on/hop off style so just say i've done some of it, i want to try get a Ipswich Tempo mind so im going to try that and maybe the OmniCitys, just unsure at the moment what is normally out on a Sunday

I wasn't aware of the museum like the bus way i didn't know they had one so might also check that out so thank you also!
