Bus Times website Fares Data page.

I just had a question about the bus operators fares data.

On the Bus Times website there is a Fare Data page:

Fares – bustimes.org

bustimes.org

All of the Arriva companies are on there and have been on that page for a couple of months except for Arriva Herts & Essex which is still missing despite the other ones being added months ago.

The page has all of the other parts:

• Arriva Beds & Bucks
• Arriva Kent & Surrey
• Arriva East Midlands
• Arriva West Midlands
• Arriva North East (Arriva Northumbria)
• Arriva North West (Arriva Merseyside)
• Arriva Cymru
• Arriva Yorkshire

So it is just Arriva Herts & Essex that is missing.

What i am trying to find out is if this is likely to be an issue with the Bus Times website? Or is this an issue with Arriva instead? Could it be that the Bus Times website has not loaded these fares? Or is it likely to be that Arriva have still not uploaded them? Is there any way to check if this is an Arriva issue?

Bus times gets the data from the government bus open data site https://data.bus-data.dft.gov.uk/search/ so have a look there to check if the data is available

Try under Arriva Kent Thamesside. The former East Herts and Essex (EH&E) operation has been managed under that operators license for quite some time and I don't believe the EH&E O-license exists any more.

The short code for that operation is also "ARHE", which seems a bit of a giveaway!

Thank you. That is perfect. I have found it now. I did not realise it would be under Arriva Kent Thamesside for this area. So that solves this mystery.

It is strange how Arriva group their operations. I would have thought Beds & Bucks and Herts & Essex would make more sense to be combined. They are both already combined for ticketing purposes. It is all "Arriva The Shires" for ticketing purposes with the "All Zones" ticket valid out to, Chelmsford, Colchester, Stansted, Reading, Oxford, Northampton, etc.

Thank you for your help. It is very useful to have this Bus Times fares data page. Single and Return fares used to be such secrets that were so difficult to find.

Arriva Herts & Essex might not be sharing data because Hertfordshire do their own thing with regards to registering bus services direct with the council and not via traffic commissioner.

They are sharing data. I have found it now. It was just under "Arriva Kent Thamesside" instead. But it is there.

The Kent Thameside dataset is from 31 May 2022 and I believe there’s been a fares increase since then.
