Bus stop timetables

In my local area of Inverclyde and nearby Renfrewshire, the local McGill's bus company placed new timetables only covering their own services at bus stops come the May timetable changes, despite SPT contesting and owning the bus stops, and other bus companies operating in the area

Lots of the McGill's timetables have already been covered over by adequate, cleaner and more comprehensive SPT signage. I do wonder, have any other companies done this and how has the council/transport authority responded?

I just posted in the D&G Bus thread that I noticed recently bus times on the 88 route in Cheshire East Council hadn't been updated. Today I noticed a new D&G branded one at an 88 stop, rather than a Cheshire East branded one. It was at a bus stop only used by 88 services. I don't know why that's happened though or if there's an agreement in place.

In West Yorkshire, Metro have historically been very good at this, but despite two tweets to them my local stop still has a timetable from two changes ago - before First butchered the service by withdrawing everything after 8pm and diverted one of the two services that used to call there, so good luck to anybody relying on it.

I travel regularly to Inverclyde and I've noticed that as well. Nothing like that in Fife and Edinburgh, just the typical bus stop timetables sometimes out of date - the bus stops at the old Forth Road Bridge tolls are a couple of years out of date, as are the ones at Eastfield Road by Ingliston P&R, which still show the First 600. From what I've seen many bus stops served by McGill’s Scotland East still show First timetables.

Bus stop timetables in South Yorkshire are all done by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (Travel South Yorkshire) & are usually done well although a few mistakes happen but are then rectified.

Bus stop timetables - whose responsibility?

Our local operator has made an unexpected (and non-trivial) change to their timetable but the bus stop is still displaying the old timetable. Should I be chasing the bus company, or the local authority, to make the update?
