I'm a newbe to this forum and have a passing interest in buses.
I've noticed in my area (north Essex) that most of the buses are not registered in the county. This I can understand, as I guess that most big big fleets will move them around to even up mileage or to react to changing passenger needs. My questions are:
Do bus companies register their vehicles in bulk, or have them registered by the bus manufacturers? (I notice that big van fleets, such as those operated by Royal Mail are often registered this way, often my the manufacturers; e.g Slough for Peugeot and Bristol for Fiat).
When buses are moved around the country, say from Essex to Hampshire, for example, are they driven there under their own power, or do they go on truck transporters/low-loaders?
I wonder if anyone with more knowledge of this could perhaps share?
