Outside of London you will find far more 'branded' routes painted in colours for a particular route - hardly ideal for that flexibility of moving to other routes. I would imagine changing a blind is far easier than repainting a vehicle.

Only a few obvious operators spring to mind - Trent, Go North East, Reading, Nottingham etc. Many operators use vinyls on their standard livery to provide information but this can be quickly changed and, in any event, it does little harm to use such buses on other routes to advertise what else is available.
