Bus challenge

Hi all,

Could anyone point me in the direction of a website or app that could help with doing a long distance bus challenge? If there are any or would i have to just go through local timetables.

Looking to go Bradford to Newcastle upon Tyne to start

Probably the best source of information on this is traveline (I prefer the interface of Traveline South West (www.travelinesw.com) but most of their regional sites should do the same thing, it doesn't matter whether or not its Yorkshire). Their journey planner allows you to select which modes of transport you'd like to allow, and if you just select "bus" it'll restrict you to buses. Unfortunately you can't plan Bradford to Newcastle in one go but it will let you go from Bradford to Darlington or Middlesbrough and from there on to Newcastle. As a rough guide, the former will probably send you inland (slightly faster but not very frequent services); the latter will send you via the coast (slower but every two hours at worst and extremely scenic).

You can also use the fantastic bustimes.org website to look up timetables all in one place - it's very useful for planning these longer journeys. Type a place name into the search and you'll be able to see all the routes going there.
