Bus and Train combination

I've got Advance tickets home from Stoke to Norwich via Kings Cross booked for the 19th March. However, due to prior commitments I have to get a bus back to Hanley Bus Station and walk from there to Stoke station, I have an hour allowed to do this. But my question is, if I get delayed on the bus and miss my Train, who is responsible? And what about my journey home, would I be allowed travel on the next suitable train?

If I read your post correctly and you are talking about separate bus and train tickets, then you are responsible for getting to the train station on time. The train company is under no obligation to carry you on a later train.

That said, if you ask nicely you may be allowed to travel.

If you have chosen to buy an advance ticket and miss your train for a reason outside the control of the railway, you would need to purchase a new ticket.

Can't disagree with what's been said about honouring (or not) an advance ticket in those circumstances. A connecting train service might be a different matter.

Just a thought - there seem to be three bus routes between Hanley and Stoke Station - not sure what time of day you're doing it but there seems to be an evening service as well.

An hour should be more than plenty if you know the way. If you're really delayed or your bus doesn't turn up, then a taxi would be a cheaper option than a new ticket.

Actually every ten minutes on two routes, meaning 12 buses per hour. Journey is only 7 minutes. Even on Sunday there are four buses per hour.

It's £2 from Hanley bus station to Stoke station, and there are many routes which pass there

I live on the way, about a 15 minute walk from Hanley bus station, and have to pick up my bags on the way past, my current plan is to pack them ready and leave them so I can run in, grab my bags and run out again if need be.
