Throughout the years, bus and rail travel have gone hand-in-hand. We like to bring new and exciting events to our visitors and would like to present our first ever bus and rail gala to celebrate these two forms of traction. This event will bring together a number of preserved buses and coaches, of all shapes and sizes, including local ones too. Some of them will be providing free rides in conjunction with the railway timetable allowing visitors to travel to Idridgehay by heritage train and return on a heritage bus (or the other way round if you are so inclined!).
Location and Opening Times
At Wirksworth station. The station site will be open each day from 10:00 until 17:30.

Traction at the event may include:
- Derby Lightweight Single Unit M79900
- Class 101s M51188 & E51505
However, other rolling stock may feature at times.
Diesel Multiple Units (or railcars) were sometimes seen as the buses of the railways and many include engines that were used in buses. For example, the AEC 220 and Leyland 680 engines.
Traction - Road
The following list of buses is correct to the best of our knowledge, with some buses only attending on one of the days and some attending on both days. Many thanks to the private individuals who own these vehicles.
