Hello all

I'll be travelling from Burton on Trent to Cambridge in a couple of months' time, and may use this very good value fare: http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=BUT&dest=CBG&rte=452&ldn=1&tkt=VES
£14 via Birmingham, Virgin Trains West Coast, and London.

I am trying to work out whether it would be valid via the alternative route from London to Cambridge via Liverpool Street, or only from King's Cross. I can't see anything in the restrictions to found this (the ticket is '& corrections', and doesn't specify which TOCs), but adding Liverpool Street as a via point on National Rail Enquiries makes the advance fare disappear. Any advice?

Many thanks.

Does it give you a reservation for the Cambridge train?

Your link hasn't worked. Put it inside [ url ] and [ /url ] tags (no spaces) to make it into a hyperlink.

These tickets are fine via LST - put it as a via point on a WebTis site (for example TPE) and you should get results. Via STP also throws up a route via Finsbury Park. If you aren't seeing anything then it might be down to the date/time chosen. When are you looking to travel?

I can get it to show via Liverpool Street on VTEC. I can also get it to show via Tottenham Hale.

Bear in mind that LST-CBG trains carry counted place seat reservations, so if you go that way you will have to travel on your booked train. NRE probably isn't showing it because travelling via LST is about 55 minutes longer.

Thanks for the responses. Having tried again with the date I want to travel, I am now able to get NRE (mobile site) to show a route via Liv St with this ticket, so I suspect it was as JakeF suggested, that the quota had been used up for the London-Cambridge leg on the days i was originally viewing. Thank you everyone.
