Burglar alarm advice

I got one fitted 3 years ago.

The battery sensors have went twice now so I’m considering getting it deactivated. These are the sensors on the wall which sets off alarm.

Is it normal batteries go twice in 3 months?

I had to fix it, as the siren was going off during the night. This is due to the batteries running low. I fear the company is just trying to make money on call outs?

Personally I would not have had a system fitted that relies on batteries for the sensors, yes it's easier to install but I believe a wired system is always superior.
Also something to check is that the installer is properly registered installer or it won't be seen as acceptable to an insurer, for example the verisure ones that are advertised a lot are not registered installers and as such are not approved by insurance companies.
