But that it has to be included in operational notices for signallers and station staff as an additional stopping service and it also has to be run as one, ie it'll need a guard. Plus it would mean a lot more people than just the driver crossing their legs!

London Midland are on to a winner that way, they're providing a 150 for the event, but anyone who travels by train will get to travel on one anyway before they arrive. Scud 1 is the original prototype and is slightly different being one of only two 150s built as a 3-car unit.

If it's anything like "Bubbles", the ATW 121, it's only passed for passengers on specific routes ie: Cardiff QS to Cardiff Bay. Any movements off that route are only ECS.

Slightly off topic but related to unusual mileage behind first gen DMU. Back in '91 I remember a 108+116+101 clattered wheezily into Cardiff Central and proudly bearing the destination blind "Penance". South Devon Banks here we come! Sadly it was only going to Bristol...

The DMU event was good today, i popped down to Kidderminster to film, got the Chiltern Railways 121020, London Midland 150001 (I heard that it been withdrawn!) and Class 108 running in an 3+2 formation

Also off topic, i saw my first Class 73:lol:

Also i saved myself an 3 hour trip just to see it got it see it roughly about 2 hours 15 minutes

Yup. Only permitted in passenger service between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury; and between Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway/Quainton Road IIRC.

Cheers,

Saw a one carriage bubble this morning on the Chiltern Line o/s High Wycombe heading towards London. It had been preceded by the RHHT train so perhaps this one was on leaf monitoring duties.
