They make very depressive reading! The latest incident is a man who indecently assaulted a woman as she travelled between Clapham Junction and Norbury at 07:50am! I would usually expect these to had after a drunken night out but not during morning rush hour!British Transport Police officers are calling on the public to help trace a man who indecently assaulted a woman as she travelled between Clapham Junction and Norbury.
The incident happened shortly before 7.50am on Friday, 21 August, as the victim – a 26-year-old woman – travelled on the 7.38am service to Epsom Downs.
PC Mark Luker said: “The woman sat in the first carriage of the train and was approached by a man who had tried to have a conversation with her at Clapham Junction station.
“As the journey continued the man approached the woman and touched her inappropriately. She confronted him and he moved away.
“Though the victim wasn’t physically injured during the incident, she was extremely frightened by the man’s actions and is still finding it difficult to come to terms with what happened.”
In a bid to trace the offender PC Luker has released a description of the man responsible and hopes someone may recognise him.
PC Luker added: “The man was white, but dark skinned, between 5’ 6” and 5’ 10”, of slim build with short black hair. He was between 30-40 years old and had distinctive scarring to his face....
