"BRS codes" map

Something I found whilst surfing the net;

It looks like total drivel but I thought I'd pass it here first - what are these BRS codes?

just as baffeled as me i think it looks like it could be two two things,

1, mile markers/ distance chart
2, signalling/ station codes

just had a second look all is explained in the bottom right hand corner they are station and route codes

On another forum it was siad that "the map is also referred to as the LCS map, LCS standing for Location Coding System or something similar".

But where was Melton Street old station?

I believe it's the old lift entrance to Euston.
