This morning I was travelling on a northbound London - Cambridge service (Class 379 operated). Shortly after departure from Broxbourne, the driver began an announcement which was along the lines of 'Good morning - our train will shortly pass over Broxbourne Junction, where the route to Hertford East diverges. Please be aware that there is a bumpy ride over the junction, and the train will shake about significantly as we pass over. This is entirely normal and safe, but I strongly recommend that passengers hold onto any open beverages.'

This particular driver seemed to be quite announcement-happy - he also apologised for a 2-minute (timetabled) stand at Harlow Town. So it all came across as quite helpful, but certainly not an announcement I've ever heard being made anywhere before!
