Britrail valid on Wrexham & Shropshire Railway?

Hello,

Is a Britrail pass valid on the Wrexham and Shropshire Railway?

I would like to take their trains to experience the first class, which is the best in the UK, I have heard?


Perhaps someone will also know the answer to these questions:

How crowded are their trains? Will I be able to find a good place in the first class on the 11:20 service from London and on the 15:25 service from Wrexham, both on a Thursday? (without having any reservation, that is)

Is the 11:20 service from London actually the same train as the 15:25 service from Wrexham? (Which would mean that the train stops in Wrexham for 9 minutes only)

Others will be able to answer your operational questions, but regarding the validity of your Britrail pass, I'm sure the answer is yes.

I have travelled with an Inter-Rail pass on WSMR and I'm sure Britrail validity is the same - basically all ATOC services are available to you. Eurostar (an associate member or similar) is the only exception. Passes are also valid on Heathrow Express, which, I believe, is the only difference in validity between Inter-Rail/Britrail passes and All-Line Rovers (normally purchased by British residents); HEX not being valid on the latter.

Yes. The 1120 from london arrives wrexham 1514, and changes crew, and then form's the 1525 back down to london! Generally 1st class is not busy, but with you being on the train at wrexham i'm sure you won't have a problem, 1st is only normally busy on the 0523,0723 depatures from wrexham, and the 1630 and 1830 from london! Only standard is busy, with regards to 1st class you get a 2course meal, and can purchase a desert for £2.50, or starter depending on what you choose, and you get free wifi as well. But check with train manager to see if working. Hope this helps

Whenever I've travelled, it's always been in First Class and I've never had a problem finding a seat.

From WRX to MYB, I had a table of four to myself, and on the return, I had to share the table with one passenger. These were both the peak departures (0723 and 1836) so I can't imagine you'd have a problem.
