Its coming up to that time of the year where I go for a wander around Great Britain using the ever useful BritRail ticket. I've 12 days to play with and my aims for this year are roughly as follows.. (changes are made on the hoof to suit mood and energy levels!)
London: Heathrow Express, last of Class 332s I am missing. SWR Class 707s (2 missing) and as many Class 455/6/8 as are practical. Greater Angelia CL. 317/21/60s and any remaining Class 90s that pop up. I don't think I will pop out to beyond Stratford this trip however.
I also want to see how many trains it is possible to catch in 1 day, I've set myself a target of 100.
Cardiff & Exeter: Now the Class 142/3s seem to be surviving past new year, I will pop down and catch as many as can be.
Birmingham. Definitely want to complete the missing Class 323s that I've not got and also see what the Avanti experience is like.
Manchester: Catch any Class 142s still nodding along and also try all 3 of the new Trans Pennine Nova trains - provided any are running that day
Liverpool: I have about half of the MerseyRail Class 507/8 fleet still to get, so they will be on my list to complete.
After that, well, we'll just have to see what comes along!
