Everything else has a Wiki on Wikia, why not our trains? I started this a few hours ago.

http://britishtrains.wikia.com/wiki/BritishTrains_Wiki

Obviously I'm going to need help to cover our trains (Moden day and past included!) over three countires! And then there's all that extra information about where they were built etc.

That's alot :o

So let's get addin stuff!

Hail RPM! <D
To help ye get started with it, I've just created an article on there as well. As ye can probabally imagine, my contribution was the start of the Class 370 - Advanced Passenger Train article... <D

Oh...And from reading the latest edits, it would appear that a Telewest Broadband user in the Birmingham area doesn't like Voyagers... ;)

I dont reallyn know that much about trains compared to probably a lot of people here but i would be happy to source pictures particularly of train interiors and cabs.

Dont certain SR units have RETB or something for the Fort Bill & Mallaig lines. Isnt it a safety system?

That will be me, not a particularly fantastic picture but I thought it would help to get it started.

Hey RPM, the site is really cool, well done. I shall have to upload some pics and maybe even some write ups as well.

This wikia business is new to me!

How exactly does it work? Do you have to join to edit pages, or is being a member of Wikipedia enough - I'd be happy to do a bit to help it grow!

Also, erm...do all the pages have to be written from scratch or can you nick sections from Wikipedia? :D

You don't have to join to make edits, but to upload things like images, you have to be a member.

Unforunetly, you can't just lift from Wikipedia. I tried :(

My 170 pics are a bit dodgy so I haven't uploaded any of them.

Someone put together one on Class 444's which was riddled with factual errors, so I altered loads of it to make it better..

I wish people who put these things together would ensure that they have all of the relevant & correct facts before creating a Wikipedia entry.

Not to be negative, but can I ask what this offers that Wikipedia does not? I'm confused as to the difference in offering between one and the other.

Scanning a couple of entries it also seems that it has beaten Wikipedia for factual and grammatical inaccuracy too, a remarkable achievement!

I've been extremely busy as of late so I've not had a chance to do anything new with it. :(

Well to be fair, I was very tired when I wrote it! Firefox has decided it doesn't want to point out my typos anymore.

Do the text is MS word (or your choice of word processing software) speel chunk then copy/paste.
