Kings Cross-Leeds pre HST IIRC (and became a part-Pullman at some stage -I'm sure there is a list of named trains online somewhere....) - with the crimson/cream livery it's 1950's or it could be a recent "named" steam trip

I travelled a couple of times on the Eurostar stock White Rose. Amazed by how much better the ride was compared to the MkIV's I travelled on on the return trip.

The website listed below has the following to say on the matter:
http://www.britishrailways.info/NAMED TRAINS.htm#Manchester
White Rose: King's Cross-Leeds Central and Bradford Exchange (TC Newcastle); 1949-64; succeeded by The White Rose Pullman

White Rose Pullman: King's Cross-Leeds and Bradford; 1964-7; stock taken from The Queen of Scots
The "White Rose" would therefore have made use of mark 1s up until 1964 (From the early fifties: With maroon livery progressively replacing the "blood and custard" scheme on coaching stock from 1956 onwards), as I believe that the "Queen of Scots" made use of Met-Camm Pullmans introduced in 1960.

My 1962 Eastern Region timetable shows "The White Rose" leaving Kings Cross at 8.50am for Leeds Central[arriving 12.37pm], and returning at 3.26pm, arriving Kings Cross at 7.12pm.
It also conveyed a portion to/from Bradford Exchange, being de/attached at Wakefield Westgate.
It wasn't formed of Pullman stock then, but did convey a Restaurant Car for Table d'Hote meals and a bar for light refreshments. You could reserve a seat for the princely sum of 2s.0d!

I seem to remember this train was the North-Eastern/Eastern Region's answer to the London Midland's "Red Rose" running from Euston to Liverpool.

If I am not mistaken, the Pullman service here was a successor to the 1950s "Queen of Scots", an all Pullman daytime train that ran Kings Cross-Leeds-Harrogate-Northallerton-Edinburgh. The trains passed one another somewhere around Harrogate. The service, via this oddball route and taking all day, was terminated some time around 1963. The vehicles were 1920s-30s Pullmans.

The LNER and the Southern were the principal users of Pullman cars, although the turned up occasionally elsewhere as well. Pullman was a separate company, although ultimately the British Transport Commission ended up owning all the shares. The staff were independently employed on different conditions, and there was apparently a longstanding union dispute with BR catering staff about their presence, not certain what, different union or non-union, others may know more. The use of Pullmans on "The White Rose" seems to be a reuse of Pullman cars and staff from London (I believe the staff were actually based at Stewarts Lane on the Southern even for this service) who came from the QoS. New Pullman cars were built by Metro-Cammell for the East Coast route in the early 1960s.
