A few years ago I had a friend who worked as a shunter at a yard in Cardiff.
He died a few years ago but left a few items from the railway, documents, manuals, etc, and 2 signs. We have been trying to identify the signs but had no luck and were wondering if anyone could take a look and tell us what they are or what they were for.

I'm fairly certain the second one is from a heat exchanger from a loco/unit.

The first one, blue and marked 'METER' is most likely a water meter on a 100mm diameter pipe probably sited in a meter pit 3m away from the sign.
