Hi Guys,

I am working on a project based on British class 150. I have found some data online but still required some more. If someone could provide me this data would be very thankful to them.

1) Class 150 is using Cummins NT855R5 Engine, I need its efficiency.

2) Drive Train efficiency.

3) How to find Maximum power at wheel?

4) How to find Auxiliary power such as HVAC?

5) Class 150 Diesel Tank Capacity?

Thanks

1) You don't just 'measure' the efficiency of a diesel engine, it depends on far too many things, what do you want to measure it against and in comparison to what?

2) "Drive Train" covers quite a lot of stuff, could I suggest you look more into this for freely available information online? It's formed of two or three pretty major units.

3) You will not find power at wheel anywhere, and should be able to derive what it would be from the efficiency of everything if it where relevant. What you may be able to find is peak tractive effort that is what actually matters.

4) The 150 has different auxiliary loads, and it very much depends nowadays on who operates it and how cold it is...

5) This, you should be able to find.

Could I ask what all of this is actually for?

I can give you an easy answer to Q4 - HVAC loads? Very much depending on the effort and power being put into the task of cooling. I.e 0. Want some cooler air, just open a window!

Heating is done mostly by the unit recycling warm water from the engine / radiator cooling system and a series of blowers.

Not to be pedantic rich, but them blowers form part of the an HVAC system and one could argue the coolant heat is technically a load... ;)
