Bristol-Hull 26th June

I've been doing a bit of searching around, and the availability of cheap fares for my journey appears to be pretty abysmal. Can anybody shed any light and help find the cheapest fare/combo of fares? It's for 2 adults (1 YP) from Bristol (Parkway or Temple Meads) to Hull from around 1600 onwards on 26th June.

Good point, I wouldn't have expected it to affect Bristol tickets heading northbound but it could affect booking horizons.

XC may be dragging out all their HSTs that week?

Yup, it does look pretty high. Perhaps splitting would work, but I don't have the time or the energy ATM to do that. You could get a cheap fare by purchasing the XC portion and the portion to Hull seperatly, but this is pure guess work.

Try looking at London, it usually works out cheaper for me.

From London theres a few £21.50 (railcard £14.20) Natex tickets still available, along with a £30 (railcard £19.80) Hull Trains one

So Bristol to London is pretty cheap but north from KGX isn't so good! Cheapest you're looking at there is £58.10

The cheapest through tickets I can find (on the NXEC site) are a total of £34.85 at 1300 from Temple Meads, or £57.25 at 1800.

The £57.25 fare can be cut to £51.45 by splitting at Sheffield.

Closer to the 1600 target time, there is a £46.50 option at 1630, splitting at Leeds with a 1 hour wait. The details are:
1630 BRI-LDS 2006 £38.20 (£23 + Y-P £15.20)
2105 LDS-HUL 2205 £8.30 (£5 + Y-P £3.30)
