I am going from Brighton to East Dulwich next Saturday, and coming back the day after.

Apart from 2 Advance fares at £8 each*, is this the next cheapest:

2 x £10.40 Thameslink only Brighton to East Croydon (& vice versa)

2 x £2.40 Oyster East Croydon to East Dulwich (& vice versa)

= £25.60 - £12.80 each way.

National Rail are quoting £30+ return.

Are there Oyster validators on East Croydon platform, or would I have to exit and re-enter?

* - Doesn't seem to be any on the Sunday.

Thanks

You'll have to exit at East Croydon and then touch in again at the gateline.

I've done similar from Forest Hill to Brighton using TL and Oyster on Southern.
