I was on northbound 1F49 which was on time at Haywards Heath this evening but noticed the indicator on platform 2 was showing a cancellation and delays. I've now looked at RTT which shows significant problems with some Thameslink services, possibly caused by the Blackfriars pan strike https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/thameslink-overhead-wire-issues-at-blackfriars.273677/ but Southern affected about as badly. What was going on?
If Thameslinks are displaced on the Brighton Main Line it will quickly spread to Southern, although there could well have been other problems.

That, and engineering works over the weekend that have taken out 3 (or possibly 4) of the platforms at Gatwick, without any real reduction of service will also cause inevitable delays...

4. Only platforms 1, 2, and 3 in use. 2 is dedicated for GatEx and GWR services. So effectively down to 2.
