Brighton & Hove Buses to take over bus route 54 between Eastbourne and Uckfield

Following Stagecoach’s announcement that they will be withdrawing route 54, Brighton & Hove Buses will take over this service.

Stagecoach relinquish Route 54 (Eastbourne - Uckfield) . . . Brighton Buses take over from 31/08/25.

The interesting part is that the route will continue to run from the Eastbourne Garage of Stagecoach!!

The latest happening on the Brighton & Hove bus scene is that 30 Alexander Dennis Enviro 400ER buses have entered service on routes 5, 5A and 5B which will switch, by geographical enforcement, to zero emissions in the ULEZ between Old Steine and Palmeria Square. These are looking very dapper...

Apparently it will be worked from B&H's existing Newhaven depot, with breaks at the Uckfield outstation.
