Not sure if this is in the right section...

But anyway, as you probbably know, the Brighton Belle trust want to get the train running by the olympics next year; if the train is completed by then who will operate it?

I'd guess it would be people from the the group but is it completely mad to suggest that a TOC, say Southern, operate it as a special train using Drivers/ Conductors who already know the route and would would need training on the unit.

I saw a Pullman car on a low loader in Hove the other day, I wonder if that was anything to do with the Brighton Belle project. Was driving at the time so didn't get a good look.

It would likely be operated in a similar way to other preserved traction, including the Hastings unit - driven by someone from a charter operator, GBRf perhaps, with experience of 3rd rail traction (it'll basically be a CIG with different acceleration/braking characteristics). There'll no doubt be someone else onboard from the trust to deal with any technical issues that crop up.

The pullman was Car 88, a driving motor on the way to Brighton seafront for Modelworld - she left the Bluebell and is now off to Barrow Hill to join its counterpart in the project. Incidentally, the trust have just purchased Pullman Kitchen 'Carina' for exchange with the Bluebell's ex-BB 'Doris', completing their train.
